Diversity & Interculturalism – pilot MOOC

This course has specifically been designed to assist teachers and tutors in teaching in the multicultural classroom to enhance their teaching practices when working with adults of basic skills. It will introduce them to many topics including Cultural Sensitivity and equip them with diverse teaching tools to be applied in their teaching context.  It has been developed as part of the EBSN-PDS project in tandem with DRLLE and the Maltese Ministry for Education.

By the end of this MOOC, in a multicultural setting, you will be able to:

  • Identify cultural bias
  • Develop self-reflexivity of one’s own cultural context
  • Identify various micro-aggressions
  • Celebrate diversity by using learners’ cultural backgrounds as a teaching resource
  • Articulate the potential negative effects of cultural insensitivity

The „Diversity and Interculturalism” is one of the courses which is being implemented and tested with Maltese adult education professionals in the period 6th June 2022 – 1st of July 2022, by Directorate for Research, Lifelong Learning and Employability (DRLLE).
