On March 10, 2023, the European Basic Skills Network, Professional Development Series (EBSN PDS), in collaboration with EPALE Malta and EPALE Hungary, participated in an online European workshop that brought together leading figures in adult education from across the continent. The workshop served as an invaluable opportunity to exchange knowledge and experiences regarding the Professional Development Series and its contribution to the professionalization of adult educators.
This workshop focused on the ongoing development and expansion of the PDS platform, particularly its MOOCs designed to upskill educators and trainers. Participants from various European countries shared insights on how the PDS platform can address the diverse challenges faced by adult educators, ranging from pedagogical innovation to the integration of digital tools into teaching practices.
The event featured dynamic panel discussions and breakout sessions, where educators and policymakers engaged in meaningful conversations about the future of professional development for adult educators. The collaborative nature of the workshop provided a forum for participants to learn from each other’s experiences and identify best practices for implementing PDS in their respective countries.
This workshop not only highlighted the growing importance of digital learning solutions like PDS in adult education but also reaffirmed the commitment of EPALE and EBSN to supporting educators in their professional development journeys. The success of this workshop paves the way for future collaborations and the continued expansion of the PDS platform across Europe.
